Self-Service & General Questions
How do I use your self-service laundry?
If you’ve ever wondered how to use a self-service laundry, you’ve come to the right page! A self-service laundry is essentially the same as a laundromat; you just come in, pop on a load and come collect it when it’s done. It’s as simple as that. We’ll break it down a little more below:
- Download the Speed Queen app
- Choose a suitable washer or dryer for your load
- Load up your washer (please don’t overload)
- Make your cashless payment via the Speed Queen app
- Using the touch screen available to you, simply select your wash or dry cycle and leave the rest up to us
What are your opening hours?
We have three different locations, each with varying opening hours. Please check them out below:
- Maroubra Laundromat open 6:30am – 10:30pm, 365 Days
- Zetland – Green Square Laundromat open 5am – Midnight, 365 Days
- Eastlakes Laundromat open 7am – 10pm, 365 Days
How do I determine the right size washing machine to use?
At Bubblebooth, our washing machines come in four different sizes, each designed to handle varying amounts of laundry:
- Medium (9 kg) – Perfect for everyday washing, think a full basket of clothes.
- Large (13 kg) – Ideal for families or bigger weekly washes. Think a large mixed load of clothes, towels, or a linen sheet set.
- Extra Large (18kg) – Ideal for bulkier items and bigger families. Think a king-size doona or a few bedding sets.
- Extra Extra Large (27 kg) – Best for the really big stuff. Think heavy loads such as blankets, curtains, rugs, etc.
Please note that machine sizes vary by location. Visit our home page or contact us directly to find out what’s available at your nearest laundromat.
Do you take cash?
Convenience is our middle name, which is why we do not take cash, as all of our machines operate on a tap and pay basis.
How often are the washing machines and dryers cleaned?
Our washing machines and dryers are thoroughly cleaned daily, to ensure they’re always hygienic and in top working condition.
Can I check when/which washing machines are available?
Yes, absolutely. Just download the Speed Queen app, and it will show you which machine is being used and how long they have left before the cycle is completed!

Detergent & Washing Products
Is detergent provided?
Yes! Both detergent and fabric softener are included in the cost of every wash, so you don’t need to bring your own.
What type of laundry detergent do you use for your washing machine?
People often ask us, “Is powder or liquid laundry detergent better?” and we always answer with something like, “You don’t have to worry, because we provide the laundry detergent for you!”
Garment Care & Delicates
How do you handle washing delicate clothes?
If you’ve never learnt how to wash delicate clothes in a washing machine, let us take the guesswork out of it for you. Fabrics like lingerie, silk, lace, or lightweight knits can usually be washed safely in our machines using a gentle or delicate cycle.
For extra protection, we recommend placing them in a mesh laundry bag. Extremely fragile pieces, such as beaded garments or wool that may shrink, are best kept for hand washing or dry cleaning.
Can I wash my shoes in your washing machines?
We ask that you do not wash your shoes in our machines, as they can cause damage to both your footwear and our machines.
Can I wash heavy items like rugs in your washing machines?
Yes, typically, washable rugs can be washed in our larger machines. If you’re unsure about the type or size of rug you’d like to wash, please don’t hesitate to contact us for guidance.
Is it necessary to pre-sort my laundry?
It’s not required, but we do recommend it for the best results. Separating lights and darks helps prevent colour transfer. Whereas washing similar fabrics and clothes types together (like towels in one load and delicate items in another on a delicate setting) not only ensures everything is cleaned properly but also prevents shrinkage or damage to your items.
